KUALA TERENGGANU, Jan 15 -- The Terengganu state government expects to receive the first payment of RM700 million in petroleum royalty in March this year.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said the amount, however, did not include the 25 per cent deduction of debts owed to the federal government.
"We receive the petroleum royalty payments twice each year. The first in March and then in September,” he told reporters after chairing the state executive council weekly meeting in Wisma Darul Iman, here, today.
Last year, the state government received RM1.277 billion in petroleum royalty from the federal government, which was paid in phases from January to September.
